Building Hope and Strengthening Communities Across Papua New Guinea
The first half of 2026 has been a busy and productive season for Links of Hope PNG as we continue to work alongside communities, children, families and partners to promote child protection, family wellbeing and community resilience within Papua New Guinea.
We are grateful for the support of our sponsors, partners, donors and communities who make this work possible.

Trophi Haus Equips 200 Children for the New School Year
Links of Hope PNG would like to express sincere gratitude to Trophi Haus for their generous sponsorship of our 'Back to School Program' for 2026, providing school uniforms and shoes for 200 children enrolled in our Child Sponsorship Program.
For many families, the cost of school uniforms can be a significant barrier to education. Through this partnership, children began the 2026 academic year equipped with the clothing and footwear needed to attend school with confidence, dignity and a sense of belonging.
We also acknowledge Westpac Bank for providing school backpacks also to each of our school children.
These practical investments help remove barriers to education and ensure vulnerable children can focus on learning and achieving their potential.
Kina Bank Continues Legacy Support for Links of Hope PNG
We are pleased to acknowledge the continued support of Kina Bank, whose annual legacy funding in memory of the late Nancy Moka will once again contribute towards Links of Hope PNG’s operational activities throughout 2026.
Nancy Moka was a founding Board Member whose passion, wisdom and commitment helped shape the organisation during its formative years. Kina Bank’s ongoing support honours her legacy while enabling Links of Hope PNG to continue delivering impactful programs across the country.
We remain deeply grateful for this enduring partnership and the confidence Kina Bank continues to place in our work.

2026 Program Delivery Commences
The year began with an intensive period of training and community engagement as Links of Hope rolled out several of our UNICEF-partnered key initiatives in Mount Hagen.
Activities included:
Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops for community facilitators.
Positive Parenting for Child Development (P4CD) Facilitator Training.
Delivery of a six-week P4CD Program within the K-Island community in Mount Hagen.
These activities equipped local facilitators and community leaders with practical tools to strengthen parenting practices, promote positive family relationships and support healthy child development.
Piloting UNICEF Girl Empowerment Programming
Links of Hope PNG has commenced pilot delivery of a UNICEF-supported Girl Empowerment Program.
The initiative works directly with girls and adolescent young women to identify safe spaces within their communities, strengthen support networks and increase awareness of available services and protection mechanisms.
Through participatory activities, girls are encouraged to build confidence, identify trusted adults and develop strategies for staying safe and supported. The pilot will help inform future implementation and adaptation of the program across additional communities.

National GBV Secretariat Supports Community and Trauma-Informed Programming
Links of Hope PNG was honoured to receive funding from the National Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Secretariat to support the delivery of two Positive Parenting for Child Development workshops in Port Moresby.
Workshops were successfully conducted in:
Gereka Community
Gerehu Community
In addition, the funding has enabled Links of Hope to pilot a new Trauma-Informed Workshop and Training Curriculum designed specifically for the Papua New Guinea context.
This important work recognises the impact of trauma on individuals, families and communities, while equipping frontline workers and community leaders with practical tools to support healing and resilience.

New Partnership with Beacon House Therapeutic Services
Links of Hope PNG is excited to announce a new partnership with Beacon House Therapeutic Services in the United Kingdom.
Together, the organisations are collaborating to develop a culturally appropriate trauma-informed training curriculum tailored specifically for Papua New Guinea.
The partnership combines international expertise in trauma recovery with local knowledge and experience to ensure training materials are practical, relevant and responsive to the unique needs of PNG communities.
This initiative represents an important step forward in strengthening trauma-informed practice across community, faith-based and social service sectors within Papua New Guinea

Office Relocation Underway in Port Moresby
Following the planned refurbishment of Downtown Plaza by Pacific Palm Properties, Links of Hope PNG is currently preparing to relocate its Port Moresby office. We are grateful for their support in providing this office space to us for the past 5 years.
While we are in temporary office facilities, the team is actively seeking a suitable permanent office space that will continue to provide an accessible, safe and professional working environment for staff, partners and stakeholders.
We look forward to sharing updates on our new location in the coming months and thank our partners for their patience during this transition period.
