We are very grateful to those supporting the work of Links of Hope as this enables us to staff our operations on the ground in Port Moresby and Mount Hagen and to keep assisting individuals and impacting them and their communities. We also operate our Respite Centre outside the city centre of Port Moresby where staff members care for a number of our orphans and provide emergency and respite care for those in need of specialist medical attention and care or respite for social intervention purposes.
What are donations used for by Links of Hope?
Employment of Links of Hope staff - teachers, pastoral care workers and our community advocate team.
Respite Centre running and overhead costs.
Vehicle running costs.
School project and uniform fees for orphaned children and children of the ladies in prison.
Small business training for ladies in prison, ladies on parole and individuals living with HIV and Aids.
Child sponsorship (school fees, uniforms, food, clothing) for children living with or orphaned by HIV/ Aids.
Missed sponsorship payments.
Sponsorship payments for children newly added to the program awaiting a sponsor.
Funding additional items for children such as milk for infants, resources for our pre-school literacy program and medicinal items for children (especially those in hospital) including nappies, washing powder, toothbrushes and multivitamin tablets.
Sometimes donations also assist with currency exchange rate fluctuations as the value of the PNG Kina is somewhat volatile.
